New DMCPs and ADMEI members

Preferred DMCs is a select group of professional destination management companies, each highly qualified in their respective destinations. The professionalism demonstrated by all our members is inherent in our commitment to continued education and accreditation of staff, ensuring the same high standards of service in each destination.

We are thrilled to announce that a further two of our members have achieved the status of Destination Management Certified Professional, awarded by ADMEI, the Association of Destination Management Executives International.

Daniella Bikoulis of Metropolitan DMC & Event Management Greece, and Kate Furman of Jan-Pol DMC Poland have passed the exam and were awarded the prestigious certification of DMCP for their professional skills.

To qualify to take the exam, applicants must fulfil five prerequisites. These include another certification such as CIS, CMP etc., membership of other associations (SITE, MPI), attendance of ADMEI conferences, clock hours of webinars/courses, teaching/lecturing, speeches given, articles written. Preparation for the three-hour exam (or four hours for non-native English speakers) requires comprehensive knowledge of the coursework laid out in the book, Best Practices in Destination Management. Most crucially, a deep understanding of the logistics of the job is imperative; a skill which can only be acquired through experience in the field.

At the same time, we are proud to note that Pro-Meet Meetings & Events Italy, our newest member, has fulfilled the requirements to become a fully-fledged member of ADMEI.

Congratulations to all!
